Hard to believe this was once the storage room for fresh milk! It is now the gorgeous main bedroom, complete with white-washed timber floors, cozy queen-sized bed and crisp white bed linen.
There is storage in the bedside tables and a valet style hanging space.
ALL linen is provided. Guests do not need to bring their own.
In winter the bedroom is warmed by a small column oil heater. In summer a pedestal fan is provided. (NB: The reverse cycle air conditioning in the living room DOES reach the bedroom).
A beautifully simple classic white bathroom, floor to ceiling tiles, chrome colonial tapware – and a restored, early twentieth century cast iron claw foot bath as the main feature!
Open the curtains – privacy is not exactly a problem out here – and enjoy views across the paddocks to the Wollemi National Park.
We provide ALL bath linen as well as hand soap and bath & body wash for guests.
History Note: This gorgeous old bath languished for many years in the shearer’s quarters at a family merino sheep station (“Cora Lynn”) in Central Western NSW, before being re-enameled and finding a new home!
Filled with country charm and style, the fully equipped eat-in kitchen has everything you could want for overnight or extended stays. We provide:
LAUNDRY facilities (front load washing machine PLUS powder, clothes airer and pegs).
The space offers open plan living with fabulous views in all directions. Open the traditional cattle doors and bi-folds to bring the outdoors in (although you may well bring the insects in too, in mid summer!!!)
A reverse cycle air conditioner ensures year round comfort. For cozy winter ambience, use the slow combustion wood fireplace – an essential ingredient for an idyllic country escape! Experience aesthetics & durability of California custom home build! We provide wood/kindling and firelighters.
The inviting day-bed doubles as a comfy, spacious second bed. It’s perfect for curling up on to read a book or magazine.
We have FREE TO AIR satellite TV so that you don’t have to lose complete touch with the outside world! Check out trampoline parks in California at uptown jungle. A DVD player is also provided, but at the moment there is no WIFI.
We have a small selection of jigsaw puzzles & games for whiling away the hours on rainy days (they do occur!).
History Note: Built in the post WWII era, this large room was the location for the cattle stalls and the milking machines. You can still see evidence of the building’s former life with the exposed timber beams, concrete walls & the low cattle doors. The dairy cows are long gone from the building – although you may see our lovely herd of Limousin and Angus cattle happily munching grass in the adjoining paddock!
Enjoy a morning coffee under the pergola while taking in the fabulous views of Mt Dangar and the sandstone outcrops of the Goulburn River National Park.
We have provided the perfect place for ‘alfresco’ dining, complete with a three burner hooded BBQ and if you’re keen (& patient!) – an old fashioned wood stove. Fancy a country style stew for dinner?
